Connect with like-minded professional individuals with the ULF Connect Leadership Program

The Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado offers a wide range of leadership training, which includes our flagship program, ULF Connect Leadership.

Our programs and events are designed to help individuals become more well-rounded, effective and influential leaders in the areas of business, politics and community service.

Black Excellence Service & Celebration Weekend!

The Black Excellence Soiree

The Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado is rooted in service and committed to giving back to our community. Our Alumni continue to exemplify excellence across all sectors and counties in the state of Colorado, creating a legacy and building opportunities for others along the way!

We want to take this time to celebrate our Alumni and welcome our 2021 fellows. Friday night will be an evening of fun, food, cocktails, celebration and recognition! Join us as we let our hair down with style and grace - July 23rd, 2021 from 6-10pm.

The 5th Annual Thanksgiving in July!

Focusing on our neighbors without homes we set out to create a day of thanksgiving, celebration, good food and positive energy.
Each year this event takes place in the Sonny Lawson Park, next to the Blair-Caldwell Library in the Five Points. With over 100 volunteers, we are intentional about connecting with the community. Our volunteers spend the day not only serving meals and preparing backpacks, we play basketball, dance, and engage with our people (following COVID restrictions of course) - we will hope you will join us!

Run 4 Your Mind Run & Health Fair

The Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado has launched the Run 4 Your Mind – 4 mile run and mental health fair to take place on Sunday, July 25th 2021 at City Park. This is the only 5K focused and committed to improving the mental health and awareness for the African American community in Colorado. In addition to completing the 5K, participants will connect and learn from some of the leading mental health practitioners, therapist and holistic works that work specifically with the BIPOC community.

Who ever thought 10 months could change my life so drastically? Being a part of the Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado has been nothing short of profound, eye-opening, and fulfilling. Through this journey I've found the true meaning of being authentic, unapologetic, a community servant, a contributing factor in politics, and a leader. The curriculum provided by Dr. Ross and ULFC Board Members is challenging yet fulfilling, holistic and tactical. Some of my most profound lessons were around networking, building social capital, self-advocacy, and self-promotion.

In fact, as a result of Dr. Ross’ direct advice, I secured a promotion increasing my yearly salary by $20,000! It didn’t stop there: since graduating the program, I have received an additional promotion! If that wasn’t exciting enough, I have branched out into the real estate investing world which earns me more than the income from my profession.

Perhaps more meaningful than the advancement in my career and financial freedom, is the lifelong friendships I’ve developed within my cohort. My fellow cohorts have challenged me, encouraged me, supported me – and they’ve given me the opportunity to do the same. Now I have an extended family of powerhouse men and women who I can call on for friendship, counsel, and support!

The ULFC program has given me the most growth I’ve experienced in my adult life and I highly recommend the ULFC program to any professional who would like to take their leadership journey to the next level. Every aspect of the program - from the outstanding speakers, to the community service projects – will not only enhance your acumen, but it will transform you into the change agent you were destined to be!
