Grace, Gratitude, and Resilience: A Holiday Message
As the holidays approach, we find ourselves in a season of reflection, connection, and opportunity. This time of year invites us to embrace grace and gratitude—not just as fleeting emotions but as guiding principles for how we live and lead.
The holidays often carry immense joy, but they can also bring stress and financial strain. Let us remind ourselves: the true essence of this season is not found in material abundance but in the richness of kindness, the gift of time, and the creation of cherished memories with those we love. You don’t need to overspend to show love or appreciation. A heartfelt gesture, a moment of undivided attention, or a shared laugh can be far more meaningful than anything wrapped in a box. Let’s shift our focus to what truly matters and give ourselves the grace to enjoy the season without the burden of overextending.
For many, the holidays can also be a challenging time, stirring emotions and highlighting personal struggles. During this season, it is essential to care for yourself with intentionality and without apology. Whether it’s setting boundaries, prioritizing rest, or leaning into joyful activities, self-care is not selfish—it’s necessary. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup. By showing yourself grace, you create space to be your best self for others.
This season also reminds us of the power of resilience, especially as we navigate the outcomes of the recent election. No matter who won or lost, one truth remains: accountability for those elected is non-negotiable. The work of justice and equity does not end with a ballot—it begins anew. We must stay poised and focused, ready to engage, challenge inequity, and uphold our shared values. A true loss only occurs when we quit, and that is not in our DNA. Every setback, every disappointment, is an opportunity to keep moving forward—one step, one action, one voice at a time.
As we celebrate progress and look toward the future, I want to take a moment to honor the incredible achievements of the 2024 ULFC Fellows. These leaders have demonstrated the power of perseverance and purpose, and they inspire us all to rise higher. Please join us in celebrating their graduation on December 7th at 9:00 AM. For more details and to attend, visit www.ulfcolorado.org/events and click on “All Events” to find the graduation. Let’s come together to applaud these graduates and affirm their commitment to excellence and service.
In closing, let us carry grace, gratitude, and resilience into this season and beyond. May we focus on the light we can bring to others, the strength we find within ourselves, and the progress we achieve when we work together. Wishing you all a holiday season filled with joy, love, and meaningful moments.
With gratitude,
