The Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado Alumni Association is comprised of over 300 graduates and some of Colorado’s most influential up and coming leaders. Upon graduation from our programs, graduates are welcomed into one of the most active and recognized African American professional networks Denver has to offer.

Customer Service and Collaboration are key drivers that generate passion in my work. I have worked in the government sector for the last 15 years with ten of those years being in a "start-up" city which played to my interest in new projects and pioneering new initiatives. My emphasis is in the area of Information Technology, where I gained much of my skill in project management, applications, telephony, desktop support to name a few. I was promoted to management and successfully transitioned (within one year) a contracted IT department to a fully staffed Operations team which includes Applications, Network, Database Administration, Service Desk, and the future addition of Web Services. I'm not the typical IT professional who works only with machines, but I enjoy working with the clients. Michelyn Johnson is currently working at Denver Public Schools as a Project Manager with the Office of Family and Community Engagement. Michelyn is a strong advocate of closing the education gap for minority students as well as the diversity gap between students and teachers within Denver Public Schools. She has helped to build relationships with a number of Historically Black Institutions and their College of Education to bring in more teachers that are diverse to DPS. Michelyn is currently working on a student to teacher pipeline to get DPS students to return in teaching roles when they graduate from college. Her professional interest focuses on diversity within Denver Public Schools and ensuring students of color are not left behind academically.
