Carla D. Coburn

IT Manager - Client Services

Customer Service and Collaboration are key drivers that generate passion in my work. I have worked in the government sector for the last 15 years with ten of those years being in a "start-up" city which played to my interest in new projects and pioneering new initiatives. My emphasis is in the area of Information Technology, where I gained much of my skill in project management, applications, telephony, desktop support to name a few. I was promoted to management and successfully transitioned (within one year) a contracted IT department to a fully staffed Operations team which includes Applications, Network, Database Administration, Service Desk, and the future addition of Web Services. I'm not the typical IT professional who works only with machines, but I enjoy working with the clients. My management skills, along with the technical and communications background, empowers me to be an effective liaison between clients and IT staff. I can bring the very technical speak to relatable knowledge for an end user. My top five strengths are Learner, Intellection, Achiever, Relator and Belief, which quickly states that I am an honest leader who collaborates with others and focuses on getting the job done successfully.

Betty Hart

I use the gift of listening and connection to bring people together. In facilitation, I help find the wisdom in the room. There is always wisdom in every room. Are we hearing that wisdom? Often we aren't, because an atmosphere must be created so that people are free to speak and diverse voices can be heard.

I am an Institutional Trading analyst for Charles Schwab & Co. Inc. I assist legal counsel in supporting Mutual Funds and ETFs by creating and managing registration statements, drafting and filing supplements and other SEC and FINRA filings. I am a 2015 graduate from the ULF Connect Program. My greatest takeaway was and still is encountering like-minded people within ULF. I was able to meet and grow with others who are pursuing their passions and desires. I gravitated toward those who had the same mindset as myself, which set me on a pathway to success. Because of ULF, I now have a lifetime of wealthy relationships that continuously push my colleagues and myself towards unimaginable goals. In my opinion, leadership is a privilege that comes with a growth mindset, self-awareness and methodology to inspire a group of individuals to achieve. My leadership philosophy determines who I am, how I work, and what I do. It is the power of the space between stimulus and response. I am most proud of the resources that we were able to provide within ourselves but to the community creating IAmAcademy Job Fair, by encouraging participants to think outside the box and consider various career opportunities.
