BIO
Alexis is a proud Denver native and graduate of THE Langston University (Go Lions!) where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.
After graduating college, she took her talents abroad to West Africa, where she successfully led a university journalism class, became a contributing writer for Gambia’s top newspaper, and had the opportunity to visit villages throughout Gambia and Senegal. It was there that she recognized the importance of providing necessary resources to underserved communities.
Alexis recently accepted a position as the Senior Human Resources Business partner at a local nonprofit where she will continue her Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion efforts as a people partner. Previously, she served as the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion thought leader and analyst for the State of Colorado. Through her commitment to leadership, she is the Social Media Board Chair for the Urban League Young Professionals of Metro Denver and has created new strategic initiatives directly supporting and impacting Urban League Young Professional members and the Denver community. She is a proud alum of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Impact Denver Fall 2022 cohort, recently completed her certification in Corporate Social Responsibility from the University of Colorado Boulder, and is also an Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado 2019 alumnae. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her amazing daughter and travels as much as she can.
