BIO
Geoffrey Sean Crowell is a native of Denver Colorado. He attended Denver East High School where he excelled in art, music, sports and academics. Geoffrey then attended Hampton University in Virginia on a full academic scholarship, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Art with the emphasis in Graphic Design. While attending College, Geoffrey was passionately involved with the Art Club, Marching Band, Jazz Band, and the Student Newspaper. When graduating, he was recognized as a Who’s Who in American Colleges/Universities, and immediately received his first job offer out of college to work as a Graphic Designer for the Central Intelligence Agency.
As a child, Geoffrey was a big fan of Animation and Special Effects within Hollywood Movies, and always had a dream of somehow working behind the scenes on the next big movie. Wanting to still pursue that same dream, Geoffrey decided to turn down the job offer with the C.I.A. and further his education by receiving his Master’s Degree in Film with the emphasis in Special Effects from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia.
Within the same month after graduating, Geoffrey hit the ground running and began working on Hollywood Movies, as a Computer Generated Special Effects Artist. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to work at a variety of Production Studios around the world and loved every minute of it. Some of his film works include: The Avengers, Iron Man, Transformers, Battleship, Prometheus, Fast and the Furious, and many others.
In between the time when Geoffrey wasn’t working on a movie, he also worked as a Motion Graphics Designer, creating Commercials for various Television Networks, which include: TNT, TBS, AMC, Cartoon Network, MTV, BET and others.
Today, Geoffrey has started a new chapter in the News Industry and works as a Motion Graphics Designer for 9News(KUSA). in addition, he also works as a freelance contractor for various businesses and companies, providing services such as Print Design, Website Design, and Motion Graphics work.
Geoffrey is an active member of various community organizations nationwide. He is a proud Graduate of the 2007 Inaugural Class in the Urban Leadership Foundation’s Connect Leadership Program, formally known at the time as the Chamber Connect Leadership & Development Program. He is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated where he currently serves as a Chapter and Regional Officer.
Geoffrey enjoys traveling, playing the Trumpet, playing video games, being involved in the community, helping others and being a big nerd to anything pertaining to Marvel and Star Wars. He also enjoys being at home with his family, and being a first-time Dad, taking care of his 1-year-old son, John Henry.
Geoffrey’s future aspiration is to become the “Black George Lucas,” and utilize the skills he learned from Hollywood to open an Independent Studio and produce All Black Films, mainly focused in the Comic and Sci-Fi Genre.
