BIO

Whitney Whitaker-Ekwueme is the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program Manager for the Colorado Department of Local Affairs. In her role, she analyzes, negotiates, advises, trains, monitors, and manages State contracts for programs funded by federal and state sources, including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and Homeless Solutions Program (HSP). Whitney provides technical assistance to local governments and non-profit organizations to ensure proper use and documentation of these funds. Her work is driven by a passion for helping vulnerable populations access essential resources.

In addition to her primary role, Whitney co-owns Clean as Joyce LLC, a commercial cleaning business, and is an indoor cycling instructor at J5 Strength and Conditioning and Vasa Fitness. Her cycling classes offer a welcoming, judgment-free environment where rhythmic music encourages participants to reach their full potential.

Outside of her professional life, Whitney enjoys traveling with her family, playing competitive games, and maintaining her IG fitness page (@spinwhitwhit). She dreams of opening a 501(c)(3) fitness gym to inspire and educate people on healthy living.

Whitney aims to be remembered as a loving family member and a trailblazer who stood up for what was right, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encounters.
